Veo que escribieron algo muy bueno homenajeando a la hijita desdichada de Flor (en su sitio personal)... Lo que ahora quería dejar en esta sección, son fragmentos del primer capítulo del libro cuya portada está en el mensaje anterior.
Por supuesto, apenas pueda iré traduciendo lo que se ve a continuación. Pero si pueden entenderlo mejor, porque aparece información valiosa acerca de algunos nombres... Compruébenlo ustedes mismos.

BIRTH

"Holly was hungry. In an annexe to the underground chamber where the other meerkats in the Whiskers group were still sleeping, she had given birth to four pups. It had been trouble-free, she had bitten off the umbilical cords attaching each of the pups to her body, cleaned off the birth foetal sacs and licked the pups dry. Slowly, first one and then another of them had fumbled their way to the warmth of her belly and started to suck from one of her six nipples.
The last pup, a female, was the smallest of the litter and had been slow to stir, but Holly had continued licking and had pushed it down to join the others, where it eventually found a teat and began to suck. There were two males, Thumper and Hazel, and two females, Petal and Flower.
The pups now lay in a heap at the end of the chamber. Holly needed food to restore her energy, but she was anxious and reluctant to leave them. She pushed into the sleeping pile of bodies, nosing them awake until first one and then another yawned, stretched and began to make its way up from the sleeping chamber to the bright light above. Holly’s yearling niece, Risca, the daughter of Holly’s subordinate sister, was interested in the pups and came over to smell them, sniffing one and then another and finally lying down beside them. Missing their mother, they clawed their way towards her belly".
"Lancelot, Holly’s two-year-old nephew, was the first to reach the burrow entrance. He paused, sniffing the air, and then cautiously clambered out and stood on his hind legs looking around. The sky was empty and he dropped back down to all fours and began licking his coat.
Holly’s yearling nieces, Aphrodite and Artemis, were next up, followed by her yearling son, Dennis Wise, and his sisters, Zola and Vialli. As the sun slowly rose above the ridge of dunes on the far side of the valley the six animals stood up, turning the bare skin of their tummies to the warmth".
"A larger face appeared in the burrow entrance. Argon, the dominant male of the group and the father of most of its members, was now five years old and had been Holly’s mate for the last two years. Like all older males, he had developed enlarged temporal muscles on top of his head. He, too, sniffed the air cautiously and then clambered out and stood with the others turning to face the sun, while carefully scanning the sky on all sides. Gradually the rest of the group joined him until only Holly, Risca and the newborn pups were still below. Apart from the pups, there were nineteen animals in the group. Holly was the dominant female and was now three years old. There were her nieces, Risca, Aphrodite and Artemis, all yearlings, three daughters, Zola and Vialli and Aramis, who were all sub-adults (six to twelve months old), and her juvenile daughter, Wahine. The males included Argon and his brother Delpheus, both of them born in Lazuli, an unrelated male, Beetle, Holly’s yearling nephew Lancelot and her three juvenile sons".

Y si por casualidad no pudieron ver el nuevo video de Flor, está en el recuadro de la página principal donde dice Top Video, y tiene el número 3.

Hola WhiskersBrother! me pareció hermosísimo el video de Flor, que dura casi 8 minutos!! creo que en ese sitio también se puede ver un avance de la película de Flor...

Es muy interesante la parte del libro, y sería bueno contar con la traducción para entenderla mejor y tomar los nombres, que son los padres y otros familiares de Flor. Todo es líndisimo!! Gracias por tu información!!(si querés te ayudo a traducir y pido desde ya disculpas)

Bueno, ahora sí, la traducción de lo que mandé. No pude dejarla en estos días porque estuve escribiendo una especie de canción dedicada a MiTCH, que trataré de mandar entre hoy y mañana. Ya sé adónde puedo dejarla.

NACINIENTO:


"Holly estaba hambrienta. En un anexo de la cámara subterránea donde los otros Suricatos del grupo Whiskers aún dormían, ella había dado a luz a cuatro bebés. Los había tenido sin problemas, había cortado los pequeños cordones umbilicales, limpiado el sitio donde había dado a luz y secado a los recién nacidos.
Lentamente, uno tras otro, encontraron el camino hacia el calor de su vientre y empezaron a tomar de su leche.
La última en nacer era la más pequeña y había sido lenta para llegar, pero Holly había continuado lamiéndola y guiándola para juntarla con los otros, en donde por fin pudo empezar a lactar. Había dos varonncitos, Thumper y Hazel, y dos niñas, Petal y Flower.
Los bebés descansaban ahora amontonados al fondo de la cámara. Holly necesitaba comida para recuperar energía, pero estaba ansiosa y reacia a dejarlos solos. Ella despertó a los pequeños empujándolos con la nariz hasta que cada uno, bostezando, se desperezó y comenzó su camino al exterior de la madriguera.
La sobrina de Holy, Risca -hija de la hermana subordinada de Holly- estaba interesada en los cuatro y se acercó a olfatearlos de a uno. Finalmente se recostó a su lado. Extrañando ya a su madre, ellos se dirigieron hacia su vientre".
"Lancelot, sobrino de dos años de Holly, fue el primero en llegar a la entrada de la madriguera. Se quedó quieto, olfatando el aire, y luego trepó cautelosamente para mirar alrededor. El cielo estaba vacío de depredadores; él se echó en el suelo y comenzó a limpiar su pelo.
Las sobrinas de Holly, Aphrodite y Artemis, siguieron entonces, luego Dennis Wise y sus hermanas, Zola y Vialli. Mientras el Sol subía lentamente sobre el borde de las dunas en lo más alejado del valle, los seis permanecieron de pie, volviendo la delgada piel de sus barriguitas hacia la fuente de calor".
"Una gran cabeza se asomó a la entrada de la madriguera. Argon, el Dominante del grupo y padre de la mayoría de sus miembros, tenía ahora cinco años y había sido el compañero de Holly durante los últimos dos. Ël también olisqueó cautelosamente el aire; luego trepó y se unió a los otros que tomaban sol, sin dejar dw otear el cielo en todas direcciones. Gradualmente el resto del grupo se unió a él hasta que únicamente Holly, Risca y los recién nacidos permanecían bajo tierra. Holy era la HD y tenía ahora tres años. Estaban sus sobrinas Risca, Aphrodite y Artemis; tres hijas, Zola y Vialli, y Aramis -todos ellos de entre seis y doce meses-; y su joven hija Wahine.
Argon y su hermano Delpheus habían nacido entre los Lazuli; luego estaban Beetle, Lancelot y otros tres hijos de ella".

Todo esto ocurría en la segunda semana de Abril del 2000...
